GENERAL PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Assist in and supervise all phases of research studies in support of the company's role in the preclinical development of new products and services. Oversee and assist in all phases of project management including, but not limited to: preparation of quotes and study protocols, writing of Standard Operating Procedures, monitoring and data collection, study analysis, report writing, and participation in presentations which address client issues.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Ensure that all activities are done accurately, efficiently, within budget and in a timely manner.
  2. Provide guidance and supervision to less experienced staff to ensure the accurate and timely execution of research projects.
  3. Establish and maintain strong working relationships with clients.
  4. Work with other sections in the company (Quality assurance, data processing, sales, etc.) to ensure that the needs of the client are addressed.
  5. Stay current on trends and development in the area of preclinical toxicology.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
  1. Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 to 7 years' research experience in preclinical toxicology studies or Graduate degree in toxicology or related science with minimum of two years industry experience.
  2. Understanding of the organization's philosophy and objectives as they relate to performing research projects.
  3. Working knowledge of research processes and analyses and the ability to perform toxicology studies.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with company staff at all levels and external clients.
  5. Ability to supervise and advise junior level staff and proven leadership ability in fast-paced environments.
  6. Excellent organization, problem solving and project management skills.
  7. Strong analytical and computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Statistics Software and other science -related software systems.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing job duties, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, visually observe and listen for an extended period of time. The employee is often required to use hands to perform basic laboratory operations, lift moderate weight, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
